Supporting DoddieAid 2022 (Jan 2022)
For the second year running, Genius Brewing will be supporting DoddieAid 2022 providing weekly prizes for top fundraisers and keeping the team captains well ‘hydrated’. Everyone who signs up for Doddie Aid will be entitled to a special discount code at www.geniusbrewing.com.
Doddie Aid is a mass participation event encouraging people to get active in January and raise funds to find a cure to Motor Neuron Disease. It was founded by former Scotland captain and British and Irish Lion, Rob Wainwright and raised a staggering £1M in January 2021, with 22,000 people taking part. Team captains Lorraine Kelly, Greig Laidlaw, Davy Zyw, Al Kellock, and Gabby Logan will lead fundraising teams representing the North & Midlands, the South, Edinburgh., Glasgow, and the Barbarians.
Genius Brewing is now in its fourth year as Official Fundraising Partners of the My Name’5 Doddie’s Foundation, donating 5p from every can of Gen!us Craft Lager to help tackle Motor Neurone Disease. Their #5p4Doddie pledge has raised over £30,000 and provided support for many other foundation events including Doddie Golf days, the Lions Trek, and the Doddie Ride.
Founded in 2018, Genius Brewing is on a mission to make healthier drinking a pleasure, not a compromise. Its award-winning, low calorie craft lager is brewed with the finest pilsner malts and three hop varieties to produce a light, refreshing, craft lager with a smooth, citrus finish.
#SmartDrinking is all about helping beer lovers enjoy a great beer that’s better for them. At 79 calories per bottle, Gen!us has less than an apple, and at 3% ABV, is exactly 1 unit of alcohol. The distinctive gold cans and bottles proudly feature the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation logo, along with vegan accreditation, and industry-leading calorie, units, and nutrition labelling.
Jason Clarke, Co-founder, Genius Brewing, said: “I played rugby with Doddie at school and my wife’s father died of MND and so supporting the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is a cause we’re passionate about. The first DoddieAid was a massive success, raising over £1m. The challenge for 2022 is to beat that target. Genius Brewing would like to thank everyone who’s taking part in this year’s event and helping to tackle MND.”
