All Roads Lead to Rome (Mar 2024)
All Roads Lead to Rome 2024 was the mad brainchild of Rob Wainwright OBE. The challenge: to raise funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation by getting to Rome for the Italy v Scotland match on the 9th March - by any means other than air! Rob's core team, which included rugby legends Stuart Hogg and Gordon D’arcy, set off from Oban in north-west Scotland and cycled in continuous relay for four days, carrying the match ball.
The celebrate the event, a ‘farewell’ dinner was held in Oban, organised with the help or Oban Lorne RFC. Over 220 guests filled the town’s Argyllshire Gathering Halls for an evening of drinks, dinner and great entertainment from guests Stuart Hogg, Jim Hamilton, cycling world-record holder Mark Beaumont, and host Dougie Vipond.
Genius Brewing supported the event by donating our Gen!us light craft beers for the ‘welcome’ drinks. Cold cans of both Gen!us IPA and Gen!us Craft Lager went down well as guests mingled, chatted and toasted the riders ahead of their challenge.
Gen!us low ABV craft beers are brewed to 3% ABV to deliver the flavour, body and feelgood of a true craft beer but with 40% less alcohol and calories than many IPAs and premium lagers. We call it #SmartDrinking.
