Doddie Golf Day

Genius Brewing joined golfers and rugby legends for the 2021 Doddie Golf Day at the luxurious Renaissance Club in East Lothian. Organised by Logan Sports Marketing, the aim was to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

With the sun blazing, golfers took on the beautiful but challenging course with pride and prizes at stake. Fresh from the recent British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa, Gregor Townsend played alongside former Scotland teammates Gavin Hastings, Kenny Logan, and Andy Nicol.

On the 10th, Genius Brewing had a bar with buckets of cold Gen!us Craft Lager ready for the thirsty golfers. At 3% ABV, the award-winning craft lager provided the perfect refreshment without the risk of turning birdies into bogeys. Meanwhile, Jill Douglas and Doddie Weir zoomed around the course in the Gen!us Beer Buggy, replenishing parched golfers with more cold cans of Gen!us

Evening drinks were accompanied by the spectacular Red Hot Chilli Pipers before everyone moved into the clubhouse for dinner. Prizes were awarded including 12 packs of Gen!us Craft Lager for Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive. Then former Scotland and Wasps star Kenny Logan hosted an auction of very special Doddie memorabilia which raised thousands of Pounds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The climax of the evening was a Q&A featuring Scotland and Lions stars Gregor Townsend and Gavin Hastings, hosted by former Scotland captain, Andy Nicol. The room was privileged to a passionate and candid discussion…..Chatham House rules!
