Doddie Golf Day (June 2022)

We were proud to again support the Doddie Golf Day at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Hosted by Jill Douglas and Doddie’s former Scotland teammate Kenny Logan, the event attracted golfers from across Scotland and the north of England. Current Scotland rugby international Jamie Ritchie and Edinburgh scrum-half Henry Pyrgos swapped their boots for clubs to support the day.

Genius Brewing ran a beer bar outside the clubhouse to ‘refresh’ the players with our low calorie craft lager and new Gen!us IPA. At 3% ABV, our light craft beers are the perfect beer for golf; light and refreshing without leading to wonky putts!

After 18 holes on The Renaissance course, which was in immaculate condition ahead of this year’s Scottish Open Golf championship, players enjoyed 19th Hole drinks in the clubhouse before a sumptuous dinner.

Over dinner, Jill Douglas announced the day’s winners and handed out prizes. Genius Brewing donated 12 packs of our new Gen!us IPA to the winner of ‘Most Birdies’ which was eagerly received. Deacon Blue’s Dougie Vipond, a big supporter of Doddie’s Foundation, discovered his golf didn’t quite match his drumming!
