Doddie's Dream Wins! (Dec 2021)
The Doddie’s Dream music video won Best Video at the 2021 Scots Trad Music Awards. The song was composed by Bruce MacGregor, founder of Blazin’ Fiddles, to raise funds for the My Name’s Doddie Foundation. Bruce was supported by the Scottish Folk Orchestra and many of Scotland’s finest trad musicians including Phil Cunningham, Ali Bain, Anna Massie, Julie Fowlis, and bands such as Skerry Vore. The song and its inspiring cause drew artists from beyond the Scots trad scene such as acclaimed classical violinist Nichola Benedetti and slide guitar legend Jerry Douglas.
The music video was produced by Stewart Campbell of Tiger Shark TV and directed by Genius Brewing’s Jason Clarke, who both donated their time and expertise. It featured the musicians and clips from fundraisers finding weird and wonderful ways to raise money for MND. Both Stewart and Jason played rugby with Doddie and are keen supporters of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The Scots Trad Music Awards took place in Glasgow on Dec 4th and was shown on BBC Alba.
