Legends Ride for Doddie (July 2022)

Ready to Ride!

Doddie Weir, flanked by fellow British & Irish Lions Peter Winterbottom and Gary Armstrong, gets ready to start the 2022 Doddie Ride.

Organised by former England and British & Irish Lions legend Peter Winterbottom, the event saw cyclists from across the UK converge on the beautiful Scottish town of Melrose to ride the Borders roads and help raise funds for My Name'5 Doddie Fund.

As Official Fundraising Partners of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, Genius Brewing sponsored the Doddie Ride, providing prizes and plenty of light craft beer refreshment for the cyclists. After a long, hot day in the saddle, our low-calorie craft beers certainly hit the spot.

Several rugby legends suited-up in lyra to support Doddie’s Foundation. Former England and British & Irish Lions flanker Roger Uttley is clearly still in great shape, managing 90 miles, while Scotland 1990 Grand Slam hero Iwan Tukalo was also no slouch! Roger quenched his thirst on our new Gen!us IPA, a light, fruity, low-calorie craft beer. Iwan’s more a lager man, tucking into our Gen!us Craft Lager. At 79 calories, both beers are very lycra-friendly!

Genius Brewing also provided prizes for the raffle, donating 12 packs of our Gen!us IPA along with snazzy Genius Brewing t-shirts. Looking smart. Drinking smart!
