Tom May Brand Ambassador (May 2022)

We’re delighted to announce that former England rugby international Tom May has joined the Genius Brewing team as a Brand Ambassador. Over a 19-year career, Tom played for top clubs including Newcastle Falcons, Northampton Saints, and Toulon in France. In his role with Genius Brewing Tom will be championing our light craft beers to beer lovers looking for a low-calorie, healthier option.

Tom played in the centre for Northampton Saints.

Now 43, Tom lives in London with his family and commentates on rugby for BT Sport. He still likes to keep fit as part of a wider healthy lifestyle, "In my pro rugby career, keeping fit was work but now it's something I can really enjoy,” says Tom “It just takes more effort as we get older. Being smart about what I eat and drink makes a big difference. Drinking Gen!us allows me to enjoy a great beer without all the calories."

Tom regularly commentates on rugby for BT Sport.

Not only does Tom live our #SmartDrinking ethos, he’s also a passionate supporter of the My Name’s Doddie Foundation. Tom began his career at Newcastle Falcons playing alongside the Scotland and Lions legend. “As a young player, just finding my feet at Newcastle, having Doddie Weir as a teammate was both a privilege and an education. Doddie certainly played hard on and off the field! Now that Doddie is suffering from MND, I’m really pleased that my role with Genius Brewing will help raise funds for MND with 5p from every Gen!us beer going to Doddie’s foundation.”

5p from every Gen!us craft beer is donated to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

We’re really excited to have Tom join our team. He perfectly reflects the health-focused Gen!us drinker; someone who appreciates the quality and pleasure of a great beer but without all the ‘booze’ and calories. As the trend for healthier drinking grows, Tom can play a big part in helping to build brand awareness and develop the business.
